Michael Crain. M.D. attended Oberlin College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, Summa Cum Laude. He then spent a year as a Research Assistant in the Neuroscience Department of Children’s Hospital Medical Center at Harvard University. He earned his M.D. degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and did his internship at the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dr. Crain completed his residency at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He did his fellowship on Cross-Sectional Imaging at the George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Crain is Board Certified from the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the American College of Radiology and The Radiological Society of North America. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of RAM Radiology and is the Chairman of the Radiology Department at Middlesex Health for many years.  Dr. Crain is an officer for the Radiological Society of Connecticut and a Councilor for the American College of Radiology.  He is on the Board of Directors for Medical Professional Services, a local IPA in Connecticut and is an Advisor for Dicom Director, a local company working to enhance the access of radiology exams.  Dr. Crain is also the Chief Medical Officer of Pondera Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which is a privately owned, socially responsible pharmaceutical development company.  Dr. Crain is also the Executive Director of The Patient Is U (TPIU), a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation to promote compassionate care in Connecticut, and former President of the Radiological Society of Connecticut. 

He and his wife and dog live in Essex.  Their 2 children work in the fields of medicine and business.
